The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office is expanding a major public awareness campaign aimed at preventing alcohol and drug-related rapes -- especially those involving knockout drugs that are slipped into the drinks of unsuspecting victims.
More and more rapists are using drugs such as GHB and Rohypnol, or Roofies, to incapacitate their victims during sexual assaults. These attacks can happen anywhere. But they often begin in bars and nightclubs, or at college campus parties where alcohol is served.
